The Off Road-team is collaborating with the Verkehrszentrum Deutsches Museum Munich to host the workshop “Environmental Mobilities Research, Public Engagement, Museum Practice” on July 22nd 2026.

The workshop addresses the history of mobilities by studying transportation and infrastructures through a distinct environmental and cultural lens, bringing together literary scholars and historians with museum practitioners to foster a dialogue on how the experience of transit—particularly automobility—shapes and is shaped by environmental contexts and perceptions of nature, while reflecting on effective methods for communicating this research to the public through exhibitions and creative museum displays.
